For web and design studios whose final invoice is waiting on the client’s copy

I write the page your client hasn’t. You pay nothing until you approve it.

White-label, paste-ready copy for one waiting page, written from what your client has already sent you. USD 350 {GBP 270 | EUR 315} a page, delivered 5 UK working days after I confirm your brief is complete.

If you don’t approve it after two rounds of changes, you owe nothing and the copy can’t be used.

Your design. Their voice. My words. Three typographic treatments joined by one bracket.

01 · Where projects stop

The build is finished and staging is still full of placeholder text

The design is approved and the build is tested. Your client said they would write the words, then their own work came first. “Next week” has now been said three times, your developer has moved on, and the final invoice sits in your drafts until the site goes live.

Two studio-side writers on the same problem. Neither has worked with me.

“If you ask any honest agency what kills timelines most often, the answer is content.”
Chris Key, Rubber Duckers (UK studio), July 2026
“That money you were expecting hangs in the air along with the project. It’s not a good situation for your business.”
Eric Karkovack, writing in Speckyboy, November 2024

02 · What comes off your plate

You stop chasing your client for words

  • Chasing your client for copy. I write from what they have already sent you: old site, brochure, deck, emails.
  • A kickoff call. Everything happens by email, with no calls.
  • Cutting text to fit the layout. Every line comes under your wireframe’s section names, with a character count.
  • The launch-night extras. SEO title, meta description, share text, alt text and form wording come with the page.

03 · The document you receive

This is what paste-ready looks like

Words that respect the design. A designer checks wording beside a printed page layout.

Search and share lines

  • SEO title · 54 characters: Bespoke kitchens in Kendal, made and fitted | Larkmoor

Voice notes, so page two sounds like page one

  • Say “we make” and “we fit”, never “we source”.
  • Plain words over trade terms: “drawer front”, not “fascia”.

Every page arrives like this, in a Google Doc. A line marked “to confirm” is never filled in with a guess, and it can’t be published until you answer it.

Every document carries one of three labels: Draft (the first version, with open questions marked), Facts confirmed (every “to confirm” answered) and Approved (the final version you approved).

04 · Who writes it

One UK copywriter, answering for every line

Marcell Mozes, a UK copywriter trading as Marcell Mozes Studio. Before I start I check three things: what the page must do, who it is for, and who answers open questions. If your client hasn’t decided on their offer yet, I tell you before the brief.

White-label. The copy goes out under your studio’s name. Use your own NDA or my clause.

How AI is used. I use AI for research and first drafts. I check and edit every line myself. How I use AI

Earlier work. Most of my copy went out under agencies’ names, edited by their teams before their clients saw it: Gripped, Fifty Five and Five, Bop Design, Napier, Blend and Pretzl. Two examples: website copy for Blackdot Solutions, an intelligence platform used by investigators and analysts (through Gripped), and content on search technology for Algolia (through Fifty Five and Five).

The editors below reviewed that agency work. None of them has bought this studio service. I publish studio results only once they are measured and the studio agrees. Until then, the free hero lets you judge the writing on your own client.

“I particularly liked how he brought a buried customer benefit into the opening. It gave the rest of the page a much clearer direction.”
Rachel Cunningham, Content Marketing Director, Bop Design
“Marcell made the copy easier to follow while keeping the relevant qualifications, and queried an ambiguous claim rather than filling in the gap himself.”
Phil Gibson, Head of Content Development, Napier
“What I appreciated most was knowing where things stood without having to chase.”
Rachel Osborne, Senior Account Manager, Blend

05 · How starting works

From the form to the Draft, step by step

Your client. Your conversation. A studio professional listens as a client points to a proposed page.
  1. The start form. Name, email, website, the waiting page, a link to your client’s material, billing currency and who approves.
  2. My reply, within 1 UK working day. Up to 6 questions and your booked start date.
  3. Brief confirmed. The clock starts when I confirm in writing that your brief is complete. Until then, a start date is only a booking.
  4. The Draft, 5 UK working days later. Your delivery date is in my confirmation email.
  5. Changes. Every first job includes two rounds of written changes. Every later job includes one. A round is one set of written notes covering the whole page.
  6. Decide. You have 15 UK working days from the last version to decide. I remind you on day 5 and day 10.

An example week. You send the form on Monday. My questions reach you by Tuesday. If your answers on Wednesday complete the brief and I confirm it that day, the Draft arrives the following Wednesday. The faster the answers come back, the sooner the clock starts.

“He understood the positioning, stayed within the scope, and delivered exactly when he promised.”
Barnaby Ellis, Director, Strategy & Experience, Fifty Five and Five

06 · Prices

Choose by how much of the site is waiting

Prices are fixed in USD, GBP and EUR. Your invoice is in the currency you choose on the start form.

One page is waiting: The Copy-Ready Page

USD 350 {GBP 270 | EUR 315} for one finished page of a real client project

  • Up to 10 sections or about 1,000 words. On Shopify, one template (home, collection or one product template); bulk product descriptions not included.
  • Your wireframe’s section names, with character counts and a Source column
  • SEO title, meta description, share text, image alt text and form wording
  • Voice notes including UK or US spelling, kept on file for your next page
  • Two rounds of written changes

Start my client’s page

The whole site is waiting: The Launch-Ready Site

USD 1,950 {GBP 1,500 | EUR 1,750} for five pages and the three emails your client sends at launch, page one included

  • Five Copy-Ready Pages for the same build, from one brief
  • One set of voice notes, so five pages sound like one company
  • Page one has two rounds of written changes. Each stage after it has one.
  • Page one arrives 5 UK working days after your brief is confirmed. Within 1 UK working day of each payment arriving, I confirm in writing the dates for the next stage.
  • One site in delivery at a time

You pay in two parts, each when you approve a stage. See How paying works below.

07 · How paying works

You read the finished page before you pay for it

Your first job. On a first job, the invoice comes when you approve and is due in 7 days. With a purchase order, it can be up to 30 days. Show the draft to your client first if you like.

What counts as approving. Approving means writing “approved” about a named version, or using any of the copy: publishing it, sending it or printing it. Forwarding it for comment never counts, and neither does silence.

If it isn’t right. If you don’t approve it after two rounds of changes, you owe nothing and the copy can’t be used.

The whole site. Site invoice one, when you approve page one: USD 975 {GBP 750 | EUR 875}, which covers page one and pages two and three. Site invoice two, when you approve pages two and three: USD 975 {GBP 750 | EUR 875}, which covers pages four and five and the three launch emails. The two invoices add up to the site price, USD 1,950 {GBP 1,500 | EUR 1,750}. Page one is included in it, never charged on top.

You can stop after approving page one and pay only the single-page price, USD 350 {GBP 270 | EUR 315}. If you continue, the site invoices apply. Tell me which in the email where you approve page one.

If your client sends it back. I never contact your client. If your client sends the page back within 30 days of your approval, with written reasons, I rewrite it once.

Using the copy. Once you approve, you can publish the copy. Copyright passes to you when the invoice is paid in full.

I answer for the work, not your client’s sales. Late payment, copy published by mistake and refunds are covered in the Terms and Refunds.

08 · Questions

What studios ask before they start

If your question isn’t here, email it and you’ll have the answer within 1 UK working day.

Who can pay after approving?

Paying after you approve is open to any organisation with a live website and an email address on its own domain, once per organisation. You don’t need to be a limited company. Sole traders are welcome when they get in touch with me first. The page must be for a real client project, not a pitch or your own site.

Can I try you first?

Pick the free hero: the top section of one real, waiting client page. Once per studio, not for a pitch, spec work or your own site. I confirm the date within 1 UK working day. Nothing to pay for the sample. The Terms still cover how we use each other’s material. If you go ahead, it becomes section one of the page.

When will I actually have the copy?

5 UK working days after I confirm your brief is complete. I reply to the form within 1 UK working day, so the rest depends on how quickly your answers to my questions come back. The example week above shows how that runs.

My client has sent very little. Can you still write it?

I work from whatever exists: an old site, a brochure, emails, a price list. Anything I can’t source is marked “to confirm” and comes to you as a question, never as a guess.

What if we’d rewrite 80% of it?

Then don’t approve it. Send your notes and I revise against the brief. On a first job: if you don’t approve it after two rounds of changes, you owe nothing and the copy can’t be used.

What if the layout has 14 sections or 2,000 words?

A longer layout counts as two pages, and I say so in writing before I start.

Will you call us, or contact our client?

No to both. Every question comes to you by email, under your studio’s name and your NDA.

I started with one page. Can it become the whole site?

You can choose the larger option when you start, or within 14 days of approving your first job. What you paid for the first job counts in full. Site total USD 1,950 {GBP 1,500 | EUR 1,750}, which includes the page you already paid. You pay the rest in two parts: USD 625 {GBP 480 | EUR 560} when you choose the site, which covers pages two and three, and USD 975 {GBP 750 | EUR 875} when you approve pages two and three, which covers pages four and five and the three launch emails.

Why are prices shown in dollars?

Prices are fixed in USD, GBP and EUR. Your invoice is in the currency you choose on the start form. The switch at the top shows £ or € instead.

What happens after the first page?

Your client’s voice notes stay on file. If you have pages most months, there is the Studio Desk. The Desk opens only after your first job is approved and paid. How the Desk works
